Turkyeh and her children are living as refugees in a camp in Lebanon, Jordan. The family is originally from Syria; their home was very near to Raqqa City Airport. That home was destroyed in the heavy bombings that have been a defining feature of the destruction and horror in this area. The family was able to escape and make their way to Lebanon where they have been since 2013. The father of Turkyeh’s four children has chosen a life with a second wife and is not interested to see or able to care for Faisal, Khirtam, Raghad, and Amal. Faisal, who is six years old, has a significant but treatable medical condition in both legs. At this time, he is not able to walk without assistance. He has surgery scheduled for this July at a SAMS mission. Unfortunately, he also has some speaking issues, but no NGO was found that could help. The family is UNHCR registered but has no other income. Turkyeh hopes to start a small business, but she doesn’t know what she can do yet, with four young children to take care of.
Faisal, six years old Khirtam, five years old
Raghad, four years old Amal, two years old
Turkyeh’s needs are as follows –
ー200 monthly needed for general support, food, supplies
ー$1000 for foot surgery to fix child’s deformed leg
ーPhysiotherapy after surgery (TBD, at moment $120 mo)
ーSpeaking therapy for Faisal (TBD but estimated at $120 mo)
ー$150 Television for children
ーFunding for micro enterprise (Still in discussions, mother wants to start micro enterprise after surgery for her son)
